OurPDX shared bookmarks for August 29th
Here’s what we’ve found as we’ve traveled the local PDX web (complete with our comments) for August 29th. (I have to confess that I’m totally preoccupied with pie creation-ing, so scrambled to get something up for y’all…!)
- The cops according to Fireman Randy (Jack Bog’s Blog) - Jack's lining up in Randy's camp: "But the important aspect of the story, of course, is that the Fireman's right. When criticized, the Portland police are, and always have been, extremely defensive and obstructive. "
- Open letter to the Mayor-elect: Thanks for making this a fun August - On the Other Hand…Phil Stanford over at the Trib thinks giving Randy Leonard the job of police commissioner is a Very Very Bad Idea. Hmmm…
- Upcoming | Portland Anti-Prom Benefit - Hey, I never went to my own prom back in the day. But years and years and *years* later, I could go to the Anti-Prom. Raise some money for a worthy cause (the Luke Dorf healing community helps people get off the streets.) And openly flout all those prom rules (drinking in front of the chaperones, wearing a hideous 'prom' outfit, etc. etc. etc.)
