And other produce.  Today around noon in Pioneer Courthouse Square, Mayor Potter welcomes the great farmers of Hermiston and thier produce to Portland.  This is an annual event started in 1991 to showcase Hermiston farmers.  Today’s events will include a Watermelon seed spitting contest by the dignitaries and free produce for anyone who shows up.  You need to get there early though - like 11:30 or so in order to get your free melon.  It’s friday - what else ya doin?
