Does Toyota read this blog?

Last week, I commented that I thought it was a little strange to see a huge advertisement for the Toyota Tundra, a full size pickup, on the side of MAX.  Why would public transit, which touts - “245 cars are off the road because of this bus…” or something like that, be advertising for a gas guzzling giant?

Well, this morning, NPR reports that Toyota announced that they were retooling a plan in Mississippi to build Prius’ instead of Highlander SUVs and shuttering their Tundra plant in Texas for 3 months and maybe forever.

Now, wouldn’t it be cool if the lead business headlines were of Trek opening a new bike factory or KEEN for new recycled shoes?  Just a thought.
